The VCA is a community-focused tool for assessing climate change vulnerabilities and adaptation solutions at the health facility level in LMICs, focusing on specific health risks, infrastructure resilience and environmental sustainability.

It uses a five-stage process – incorporating data review, audits, scenario-based qualitative analysis and action planning – to provide a practical framework for health facilities to identify climate hazards, prioritize interventions and develop resilience plans.
