One Health approaches are multidisciplinary and rooted in community participation. It is also important to bear in mind the private sector when conducting One Health IR. A study in Kenya on improving capacities in public and animal health systems found that including stakeholders from the private sector in problem identification, developing and implementing interventions not only built trust in project outcomes, but also opened up access to additional resources and expertise.¹³
