The multi-country TDR-IDRC Research initiative aimed to generate new knowledge for developing strategies to reduce VBDs and increase resilience to climate change. The study demonstrated the limitations of siloed approaches for controlling VBDs, which are influenced by factors beyond just the pathogen.

The final report highlighted the value of a holistic One Health approach, enabling engagement and collaboration across human, animal and environmental health sectors. Additionally, it found the SESR framework to be complex and adaptive enough to conduct IR studies within the One Health context.
