The Bruyère Research Institute and the World Health Organization's (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Knowledge Translation and Health Technology Assessment in Health Equity hosted a workshop from June 13 to 15.

Participants from all over the world gathered under the United Nations Development Programme’s Access and Delivery Project “Technical revision of the Implementation Research ToolKit to support capacity to identify and address country-specific health research priorities for effective control of tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases in low and middle-income countries.”

In 2013, the WHO/TDR (Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases) developed an Implementation Research Toolkit to guide countries through the process of identifying specific problems related to the delivery or scale up of a proven disease control intervention. Then through the research process, researchers and programme staff find appropriate solutions together with stakeholders. The toolkit has been widely disseminated globally and is currently used by national programs and academic research teams.

The review team was comprised of representatives from the Ghana Health Service, University of Ghana, Universitas Gadja Mada, University of Ghana, PATH Seattle, Bruyere Research Institute as well as the WHO-TDR team. During the three- day meeting, the team reviewed the toolkit and addressed feedback received since it was launched in 2013 with the goal of launching the revised ToolKit later in 2016.
