Emergence of Health Technology Assessment Organizations

While resources for health are finite, demand for available services is unlimited, and policymakers have to make difficult decisions around which interventions to prioritize and how to allocate resources. This study investigates the drivers of successful institutionalization of Health Technology Assessment as a priority-setting mechanism of choice in five high-income countries, to distil relevant lessons for stakeholders interested in establishing such institutions in low-resource settings.
