Large-scale testing and contact tracing are central to efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic. Such efforts rely on diagnostic tests that can rapidly, accurately, and reliably detect SARS-CoV-2. However, with over 1,000 COVID-19 diagnostics tests currently in development or on the market, understanding test quality, performance, and availability at the global and country level is extremely challenging.
This COVID-19 Diagnostic Procurement Resource, developed in collaboration between PATH and ADP, provides a focused view of data of particular interest to procurement teams researching appropriate COVID-19 diagnostics.
Diagnostic tests can be filtered by country-specific regulatory status and key test specifications to identify products that meet procurement needs, and offer easy access to additional information on available products that meet these criteria.
This COVID-19 Diagnostics Procurement Resource is one of several COVID-19 Diagnostics Dashboards developed by a multidisciplinary team at PATH to consolidate publicly available market intelligence to support data-driven procurement and purchasing decisions. These additional dashboards are listed in the “Making sense of COVID-19 diagnostics” section.
All data represents publicly available information, compiled from product IFUs, inserts, and webpages, regulatory authority websites, and outreach to manufacturers. Currently, the scope of data collected is limited to antigen tests that have at least one regulatory approval by a WHO Listed Authority Ml4 and that meet WHO TPP specificity and sensitivity requirements. Global and private distributor information is also based on publicly available information, with any available contact information included in the exportable file available for download. Pricing information is indicative only.
Data will be updated each quarter. To be notified about updates to the PATH COVID-19 diagnostic dashboards, including this procurement platform, please email DxCOVID@path.org.
