Training Report: SMILE for Rabies Application in Bali and East Nusa Tenggara Provinces

25 March 2024

Dog-mediated rabies is a deadly zoonotic disease endemic to Indonesia, especially affecting people living in underserved areas with limited access to vaccines. To establish a robust rabies vaccine supply chain management system, UNDP Indonesia has supported the development of the SMILE (Sistem Monitoring Imunisasi Logistik secara Elektronik) for Rabies application to manage and monitor rabies vaccines and serum. After the successful trial of the SMILE for Rabies prototype last year, two trainings were conducted in January and February 2024 in Bali and East Nusa Tenggara provinces to train health workers on the utilization of the application, and to gather feedback and recommendations for its development. This report documents the two training workshops.
