22 October 2024

The neglected tropical disease rabies is a significant public health concern in India. This state-specific action plan provides holistic measures for the prevention and control of dog mediated rabies in the Union Territory of Meghalaya. It is based on the One Health approach, which recognizes the interconnection between people, animals, plants and their shared environment, and contributes to achieving the goals of India’s National Action Plan for Dog Mediated Human Rabies Elimination, and meeting the global target of zero human dog mediated rabies deaths by 2030.
